Secure property-wide managed WiFi

InCoax enabled secure property-wide managed WiFi

Deploying reliable, property-wide managed WiFi by pulling new fiber or Ethernet cables to every Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) is labor intensive, disruptive to residents, and often delayed by permissions from building owners, tenants, and local authorities. Property-wide managed WiFi using MoCA Access™ based InCoax technology leverages the inbuilding coaxial network to feed access points or gateways, delivering consistent performance and coverage across the property. The solution supports fiber or fixed wireless access backhaul, so networks can evolve without re-cabling inside the building. Each InCoax Control Unit supports up to 500 provisioned VLANs, of which 250 can be active simultaneously, thus enabling secure property-wide managed WiFi.

InCoax Enabled Property-wide Managed WiFi over MoCA Access provides reliable Gigabit to MultiGigabit broadband over the in-building coax, enabling uniform WiFi throughout apartments, common indoor and outdoor areas. Internet services are delivered to the different media hubs and the system may co-exist with existing TV solutions. It offers a sustainable, cost-effective way to upgrade broadband distribution.

The effective way to provide secure property-wide managed WiFi services
to MDUs and common indoor and outdoor spaces

How it works

Install the InCoax MoCA Access Control Unit at the property extension point and connect to the existing coax network. Each apartment is equipped with an InCoax NTE that terminates the coax network and distributes the traffic via Ethernet to a WiFi access point (AP) or gateway. The solution supports point-to-point and point-to-multipoint coax network topologies with optional TV coexistence.

Centralized management

InCoax Manage™ uses zero-touch provisioning to bring units online at scale, push settings across the property,
and monitor performance remotely. Configuration changes and firmware updates are executed centrally to reduce site
visits. The system connects to the operator’s existing WiFi
platform and OSS via standard interfaces.

Segmentation and policy

Per-unit and per-building VLANs at the coax access point separate resident, staff, guest, and IoT traffic. Each Control Unit supports up to 500 provisioned VLANs, of which 250 can be active simultaneously, thus enabling secure property-wide managed WiFi. Service tiers and bandwidth profiles are applied centrally without in-unit work.

Seamless mobility

Reliable and secure low-latency connection to each AP/ router over coax supports a experience as users move between apartments, common areas, and outdoor zones. Roaming behavior is handled by the chosen WiFi platform.

Indoor and outdoor coverage

Control Units distribute broadband over the existing coax via InCoax NTEs to AP/router locations. Wall or ceiling APs serve units and corridors; rugged outdoor APs/routers extend the same WiFi network to courtyards, entrances, and walkways.
