The digital divide in the United States stretches deeper than policymakers ever imagined. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently estimated that 19.6 million U.S. residents lacked access to a fixed broadband service of at least 100\/20 Mbps. More strikingly than that however, a\u00a0report from BroadbandNow<\/a>\u00a0highlighted that those numbers were incorrect and actually 26 million Americans lack adequate connectivity.<\/strong><\/p>
